AKFA
Adelaide Kite Flyers Association Inc.

Dont miss our next major events:

Port Pirie, on the 26th of October,

 Ardrossan, on the 14th December..

So come for a drive, stay, and watch the awesome kite display...
Kiting is an activity that has no age limit, and we want to promote an inexpensive, fun, friendly and social kite club. From the earliest times in the 90's, many forms of kite flying have been promoted here such as single line, dual line, fighter kites, quad lines and the competitive sport of team flying.

In recent times, fighters and team flying have slipped away but have been replaced with a plethora of large and impressive show kites.

Non-flying and semi-flying creature inflatables hang from the flying lines of lifters.
Welcome to our site
AKFA has been active here in South Australia since 1992. Since 2012 we have hosted the Adelaide International Kite Festival with the help of KMarie Events. We fly a variety of single-liners and sport kites, including a number of larger kites which are club-owned.
A few members fly sticked single-liners, and some of these are quite large. You'll definitely see a few big single-line parafoils too, on a typical club fly day.

If you want to see stunt kites of various types, come out on a windy day!

Club flying occurs on or near the beach at Semaphore Park on the second Sunday of every month. Of course, on some occasions, bad weather or very low wind will preclude any flying.'

And most importantly,  we would like to thank our sponsors. They get a special page of their own.. so scroll down the menue and check them out....
